Great Plains Lutheran 28, Hitchcock-Tulare 20
HITCHCOCK - The Great Plains Lutheran Panthers opened up a 22-6 halftime lead and held on for a 28-20 victory over the Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots in Hitchcock on Friday.

The Panthers move to 4-4 behind a strong ground attack that produced 239 yards and four touchdowns.

Hitchcock-Tulare falls to 4-4 despite 114 yards and three touchdowns on the ground from Erik Salmen. Salmen was also 8 of 18 passing for 119 yards and also had eight tackles and a sack on defense.

Brendan Nowell led the Patriots in receiving with five catches for 69 yards. Dalton Rathjen had nine tackles and a sack while Preston Wipf had a pair of sacks on defense.

The Patriots will host Lemmon/McIntosh Thursday in Tulare to open the playoffs.

CLEAR LAKE – The Deuel Cardinals ran up 285 yards rushing en route to a 50-0 victory over the Redfield Pheasants Friday in Clear Lake.

Fifth-ranked Deuel finished the season with a perfect 8-0 record after Troy Maaland racked up 113 yards and three touchdowns while also being part of three 2-point conversions.

Gavin Kloos ran for 72 yards on 10 carries, including one score while Carson Marko ran four times for 69 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The Pheasants were led defensively by Chase McGillvary’s five tackles.

Redfield finished the year with a 1-7 record.
