Hitchcock-Tulare 52, Avon 0
TULARE – Second-ranked Hitchcock-Tulare was expected to be seriously challenged by the fourth-ranked Avon Pirates Friday, but the Patriots found little resistance in a 52-0 victory in Tulare in a game ended at halftime by mercy rule.
The Patriots put together 337 yards on offense balanced between 161 rushing yards and 176 yards passing.
Erik Salmen led Hitchcock-Tulare with 15 rushes for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Landon Puffer grabbed five catches for 109 yards and two scores. Puffer also returned a punt 68 yards for a touchdown and grabbed an interception on defense.
Patriot quarterback Carter Binger was 10 for 17 passing for 176 yards and three touchdowns.
No individual statistics were available for Avon, who falls to 3-2.
Hitchcock-Tulare will take a 5-0 record into a matchup Friday with Sunshine Bible Academy in Hitchcock.

MILLER — Thomas Erickson and Micah Holien each had a pair of touchdowns to lead Great Plains Lutheran to a 42-7 victory against Sunshine Bible Academy on Friday.
Erickson opened the scoring with a 9-yard touchdown run and then connected with Jacob Bartels on a 29-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter.
Holien scored on runs of four and 65 yards for Great Plains Lutheran.
Scoring the lone touchdown for SBA was Daniel Gerbracht on an 8-yard pass from Nolan Triebwasser.
