James Valley Christian 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 1
HURON – The Lady Vikings of James Valley Christian dropped the first set, but bounced back to defeat the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders 20-25, 25-11, 25-10, 25-18.

The Lady Vikings move to 6-8 with the victory behind a strong hitting attack led by Julia Blom, who was 24 of 29 on the attack with 13 kills while going 8 of 10 from the service line with three aces. Brenna Held was 25 of 27 on attacks with nine kills and also pitched in three blocks along with 13 of 13 serving and a pair of aces.

Jordyn Cutshaw led James Valley Christian from the service line, going 12 of 12 on the night with four aces. Karilyn Wieting set up the offense with 28 assists while Angelina Zuccaro led the defense with 10 digs.

Sunshine Bible Academy drops to 4-10 with the loss. Ruthe Lopez led the team with 17 digs, four blocks and seven kills.

Abby Haun set up the offense with seven assists while adding 13 digs and two aces on 10 of 11 serving. Liza Konechne pitched in seven kills.

Both teams are next in action against Wessington Springs, with the Crusaders traveling to Wessington Springs Monday while the Lady Vikings host the Spartans Tuesday.

Hamlin 3, De Smet 0
DE SMET - The De Smet Lady Bulldogs were swept at home Tuesday by the Hamlin Chargers 25-9, 25-11, 25-8.

Hamlin improves to 15-4 on the season with the victory behind a strong serving attack that produced 10 aces as a team. Taylor Kristi led the Chargers with four service aces.

Grace Everson set up the Hamlin attack with 17 assists and also had three aces. McKenna Prouty led the Chargers with nine kills and a pair of blocks.

Ashtyn Abraham led the Charger defense with 11 digs while Ally Abraham had seven kills and three service aces on the night.

The Lady Bulldogs (5-12) were paced by Kennadi Buchholz with four kills, 10 blocks, and two service aces, all of which led the team.

Emma Albrecht had 15 digs to lead the De Smet defense while Katelyn Halverson had four assists for the Lady Bulldogs offense.

De Smet will the part in the Dakota Valley Conference tournament Saturday in Lake Preston.

Platte/Geddes 3, Miller 2
MILLER – It took five sets, but the Black Panthers of Platte-Geddes took a road victory over the Miller Rustlers 21-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-12.

Platte-Geddes moves to 12-3 on the year with the victory behind a big game from Karly VanDerWerff, who registered 22 kills and a pair of blocks. Avery DeVries set up the Black Panthers offense with 39 assists, had 16 digs, and scored a pair of service aces as well.

The Rustlers were led by a big game from Storm Johnsen, who had 22 kills, 21 digs, and five blocks.
Miller (3-10) was led on defense by Macie Werdel with 22 digs. Alvena Batin set up the offense with 30 assists.

Miller is back in action at the Milbank Triangular Saturday.

Wessington Springs 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 0
MILLER – The Wessington Springs Spartans swept the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders Tuesday 25-22, 25-22, 25-13.

The Spartans moved to 5-9 on the year with the victory. Alyssa Grohs was 24 of 24 on the night serving with four aces while also setting up the offense with 29 assists.

Sarah Poncelow led Wessington Springs with 10 kills and three blocks. Maddie Privett paced the defense with 22 digs, while Kindra Wolter added 10 digs.

Sunshine Bible Academy fell to 4-9 with the loss. Ruthe Lopez led the team with eight kills, three blocks, and was 5 of 7 serving with two aces.

Liza Konechne was 13 of 15 serving on the night with a pair of aces for the Crusaders. Abby Haun set up the offense with 12 assists and also led the team with 14 digs. Sadie Konechne had 13 digs.

The two teams square off again in Wessington Springs on Monday.
