WESSINGTON SPRINGS – The Wessington Springs Spartans fell on Thursday at home to the Kimball/White Lake WiLdKats in straight sets 25-17, 25-14, 25-13.

Dani Deffenbaugh led the way for the WiLdKats with six service aces, eight kills, and three blocks.

Kennedy Leiferman led Kimball/White Lake with 10 kills and 10 digs. Ryann Nielsen set up the WiLdKat offense with 18 assists.

Wessington Springs fell to 5-12. Trinity Flowers led the Spartans defense with 11 digs. Maddie Privett added 10 digs.

Alyssa Grohs paced Wessington Springs with eight assists and added two service aces. Sarah Poncelow led the Spartans up front with four kills and two blocks.

Wessington Springs will close out the season hosting Hitchcock-Tulare in a 281 Conference matchup Tuesday.

James Valley Christian 3, Wessington Springs 0
HURON – The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings took home a 281 conference sweep on Tuesday over the Wessington Springs Spartans 25-23, 25-16, 25-12.

Brenna Held led the Lady Vikings, now 7-8, with 13 kills on 21 of 26 attacking. She was also 13 of 16 serving with a pair of aces and also had four blocks.

Olivia Rink led James Valley with 22 digs. Colleen Wipf added 10 digs. Julia Blom also contributed 12 kills on 24 of 29 attacking. Karilyn Wieting set up the Lady Viking attack with 28 assists.

The Spartans (5-11) were led by Maddie Privett at the service line, going 5 of 7 serving with three aces. Trinity Flowers and Kindra Wolter each had three kills to lead Wessington Springs.

Angie Paulson had 14 digs to lead the Spartans while Alyssa Grohs led the squad with 14 assists.

James Valley Christian will close the season on the road Tuesday against Mitchell Christian.
