Groton 3, Redfield 1
REDFIELD — The Redfield Pheasants won the first set, but the Groton Tigers rebounded with three straight set wins to claim the 3-1 volleyball win Friday night, at the Redfield High School gymnasium.
Groton moves to 17-4 with the 23-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 win, while Redfield falls to 9-15.
Groton was led by Anna Fjeldheim’s 19 kills, while Chesney Weber added 14. Liz Fliehs had 39 assists and Carly Guthmiller accounted for 24 digs.
Redfield got eight kills each from both Charli Jungwirth and Ceci Suchor, while Katie Rozell had five aces and assisted on five blocks. Hayden Gall had 26 assists and Chloe Zens had 24 digs in the match.
Redfield hosts Wolsey-Wessington tonight.
Miller 3, Ethan 2
MILLER — The Miller Rustlers dug themselves out a two sets to none deficit, to come back and defeat the Ethan Rustlers 3-2 in non-conference volleyball action Friday night at the Miller Armory.
Set scores for the Rustlers, now 24-6, were 16-25, 22-25, 25-23, 25-15 and 15-9. Ethan falls to 20-8 with the loss.
Aleah Schlecter had 17 kills and 18 digs to lead the Rustlers. Paige Werdel accounted for 16 kills, while Heather Resel and Olivia Resel had 32 and 17 assists, respectively. Jolie Palmer had 40 digs to lead the defense.
For the Rustlers, Ava Lingemann had 21 kills and 39 digs, while Marissa Storm had 15 kills. Maddy Bartscher had 35 set assists and 33 digs.
Miller travels to Highmore-Harrold on Tuesday.
Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Sully Buttes 0
ONIDA — The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots romped to a 3-0 win over the Sully Buttes Chargers in non-conference volleyball action Friday night.
H-T, now 21-7, enjoyed set scores of 25-5, 25-21 and 25-17.
Katelyn Schroeder had 17 kills and Rebecca Huizenga added eight for the Lady Pats. Lila Johnson had 23 assists, while both Isabel Gilbert and Ella Johnson collected three aces.
Cambree Hoekman had 15 digs and Johnson added 14.
No stats were available for the Chargers.
The Lady Patriots host Wessington Springs Tuesday night in Tulare.
Clark/Willow Lake 3, Britton-Hecla 0
BRITTON — The Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones pounded out a 3-0 win over the Britton-Hecla Braves Friday night, with set scores of 25-23, 25-17, 25-21. The Cyclones improve to 9-13 with the win, while B-H falls to 8-13.
Hannah Heiman had 10 kills and an ace for the Cyclones. Sara Thornvold had six kills and an ace and also had six digs. Kate Larson led the defense with six blocks.
The Cyclones host Sisseton Monday night in Clark and travel to Hamlin on Tuesday.
