HURON – The James Valley Lady Vikings fought to force a fifth set against the Aberdeen Christian Knights, but fell short in the deciding fifth set Friday at JVC.

Set scores for the Knights were 25-11, 17-25, 25-14, 17-25, and 15-8.

The victory moves the Knights to 15-3 behind a big hitting night from Mary Fites, who had 23 kills. Kaylee Block set up the Aberdeen Christian offense with 36 assists.

Joy Rohrbach led the defense with 27 digs and also had a pair of service aces for the Knights.

The Lady Vikings fall to 7-12 despite a strong night from Brenna Held, who was 13 of 15 serving with three service aces. She also led JVC with 15 kills.

James Valley Christian hosts Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Tuesday.

Roncalli 3, Clark/Willow Lake 1
CLARK — The Aberdeen Roncalli Cavaliers pushed their season record to 11-5 Thursday night, with a 3-1 win over the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones in volleyball action.

Jeci Ewart clocked 12 kills, Jaidyn Feickert had four aces and Ella Hanson logged 23 digs to pace the Cavaliers.

The Cyclones got six kills from Macy Steen, Summer Seefeldt had five kills, 12 blocks, two aces and 41 digs and Logan Hulbart tallied 25 assists and a pair of aces.

Clark/Willow Lake, now 3-12 on the season, will travel to Flandreau on Tuesday.
