ONIDA - The Miller Rustlers swept the Sully Buttes Chargers 25-18, 25-8, and 25-16 Thursday in Onida.
The Rustlers move to 3-1 behind 10 kills by Aleah Schlecter on 25 of 27 hitting. Journey Palmer went 13 of 15 serving, nailing four aces.
Heather Resel set up the Miller offense, going 83 of 84 on sets with 28 assists. Jolie Palmer led the Rustlers with 16 digs.
Miller hosts Class “B” top-ranked Warner on Tuesday.

Redfield 3, Deuel 0
CLEAR LAKE - The Redfield Pheasants swept the Deuel Cardinals Thursday in Clear Lake to earn their first win of the season.
Set scores for Redfield were 25-20, 25-20, and 25-13.
Redfield (1-3) was led by Katie Rozell with nine kills and four block assists. Chloe Zens led the Pheasants with 12 digs.
Hayden Gall was a perfect 60 of 60 setting for Redfield with 16 assists and also went 23 of 24 serving with an ace.
Deuel fell to 2-2. Ella Kerkvliet had 17 digs and three aces for the Cardinals.
Redfield travels to Leola to play Leola/Frederick on Tuesday.

Wolsey-Wessington 3, De Smet 0
DE SMET – The Wolsey-Wessington Lady Warbirds bounced back after losses to two of the top-ranked teams in the state to defeat the De Smet Bulldogs in straight sets Tuesday in De Smet.
Set scores for the Lady Warbirds were 25-17, 25-15, and 25-18.
The Lady ‘Birds (2-2) were led by Kailyn Dorris, who was 14 of 17 hitting with nine kills, contributed three blocks, and was 24 of 26 serving with five aces. Kendal Uttecht and Payton Kemnitz split setting duties, each ending up with 15 assists.
The Bulldogs fell to 1-2 despite a strong all-around game from Mirra Beck with eight kills on 26 of 29 attacking, 8 of 8 serving with one ace, and 12 digs.
The Lady Warbirds are off until Sept. 7 when they will host Hitchcock-Tulare. The Bulldogs travel to Deuel Tuesday.

Aberdeen Roncalli 3, Miller 2
ABERDEEN – The Miller Rustlers suffered their first defeat of the season Tuesday in a hard-fought five-set match against the Aberdeen Roncalli Lady Cavaliers in Aberdeen, 3-2.
Set scores for the Lady Cavs were 25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 19-25, and 15-7.
Aberdeen Roncalli moves to 2-1 on the season. No individual statistics were available.
Miller falls to 2-1 despite an excellent night from setter Heather Resel, who was 111 out of 112 sets with 30 assists and was perfect from the service line on 20 serves with four aces.
Aleah Schlechter was 36 of 45 on the attack with 14 kills and three blocks. Jolie Palmer led the Rustler defense with 20 digs, while Journey Palmer contributed 11 kills on 41 of 46 attacks.
The Rustlers will host Warner, the top-ranked team in Class “B”, on Tuesday.
