Webster Area 3, Clark/Willow Lake 2
CLARK — Webster Area needed a fifth set to get past Clark/Willow Lake 3-2 on Thursday.

The Bearcats won the match with set scores of 19-25, 25-22, 25-19, 14-25 and 15-6.

Cara Shoemaker was 22 of 25 hitting with nine kills to lead Webster Area, which is now 5-3, while Morgan Jager added eight kills on 21 of 22 spikes.

Emily Richie was 17 of 22 serving with eight aces for the Bearcats, while Ellie Mount had a pair of aces on 15 of 15 serving.

Jaiden Bauer had 51 sets and nine assists, while Richie tallied 54 digs and Mount had five blocks.

Erica Juntunen racked up 26 kills on 49 of 57 hitting for Clark/Willow Lake, while Jade Burke was 23 of 26 with seven kills. Chayla Vig was 21 of 22 serving with two aces, while Sadie Streff was 19 of 20 with an ace and Juntunen was 15 of 18 with five aces.

Morgan Burke was 107 of 115 setting with 37 assists for the Cyclones and had a team-high 16 digs. Vig tallied 15 digs, while Mackenzie Tormanen had four blocks.

Clark/Willow Lake, which is 3-4, plays at Wilmot today.

Elkton/Lake Benton 3, De Smet 0
DE SMET – The De Smet Lady Bulldogs fell in straight sets at home to Elkton/Lake Benton on Thursday, 25-16, 25-13, 25-17.

Elkton/Lake Benton moved to 5-1 on the season behind a strong performance from Hannah Krog with 18 kills on the night.

Rachael Krog led the visitors with 14 digs.

Julia Drietz tallied 33 assists on the night for Elkton/Lake Benton.

Despite Kennadi Buchholz posting nine kills and eight blocks, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 1-6 on the year.

Ella Poppinga totaled 13 digs.

De Smet plays in the Lake Preston volleyball tournament Saturday.
