Hitchcock-Tulare 3, Iroquois/Lake Preston 0
IROQUOIS – The Hitchcock-Tulare Lady Patriots pulled out their twelfth win of the season Tuesday with a 25-15, 25-18, and 25-18 sweep of the Iroquois/Lake Preston Sharks in Iroquois.
Katelyn Schroeder led the Lady Patriots (12-3) with 14 kills on 31 of 36 hitting. Ella Johnson had 10 kills on 17 of 18 hitting and also was 21 of 21 serving with four aces.
Cambree Hoekman paced the defense with 17 digs while Lila Johnson was 80 of 81 setting with 27 assists.
The Sharks (3-8) travel to Highmore-Harrold on Thursday. The Lady Patriots will participate in the Pentagon Tournament in Sioux Falls Saturday.
James Valley Christian 3, De Smet 0
DE SMET – The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings came away with a road sweep Tuesday over the De Smet Bulldogs in De Smet.
Set scores for the Lady Vikings were 25-23, 25-22, and 25-18.
JVC moves to 5-6 on the season behind 10 kills on 18 of 20 hitting for Addy Knight. Maggie Decker was 8 of 9 serving with three aces.
Andee Frandsen sparked the Lady Viking defense with 25 digs while Cora Hofer recorded a pair of blocks.
JVC travels to Wolsey-Wessington Thursday for a 281 matchup. De Smet (4-11) hosts Clark/Willow Lake on Tuesday.
Miller 3, Redfield 0
MILLER – The Miller Rustlers swept the Redfield Pheasants in straight sets Tuesday in Miller, 25-10, 25-15, and 25-20 to earn their ninth straight victory.
Miller had four servers with multiple aces on the evening, led by Journey Palmer, who was 11 of 14 from the service line with three aces. Heather Resel was 18 of 18 serving with two aces and had 30 assists.
Aleah Schlecter was 18 of 24 on the attack with 10 kills while Shaylee Anderberg was 23 of 26 hitting with nine kills.
Jolie Palmer led the Rustler defense with 24 digs.
Miller moves to 11-2 and will play in the Central South Dakota Conference tournament on Saturday in Faulkton next, while Redfield 5-8 will travel to Milbank Thursday.
Lower Brule 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 2
MILLER – Seeking back-to-back victories, the Sunshine Bible Academy Crusaders fell just short, losing to the Lower Brule Lady Sioux in five sets Tuesday at the SBA Event Center.
Lower Brule won with set scores of 9-25, 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, and 15-13.
The Lady Sioux move to 2-4 with the victory.
The Crusaders, fresh off their first victory of the season last week against Crow Creek, were attempting to win back-to-back games against the Lady Sioux but instead fall to 1-7.
Lydia Lo nailed four aces serving and led the Crusaders with three blocks on defense. Betra Amare added three aces from the service line.
Annaliese VanZee led SBA with nine kills and added a block. Kennedy Keck led the defense with five digs.
The Crusaders host Sully Buttes Thursday.
