James Valley Christian 3, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 0
HURON – The James Valley Christian Lady Vikings swept the Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks in straight sets, 25-17, 25-21, and 25-21 in the JVC gym.
The Lady Vikings move to 10-8 behind strong defense, led by Andee Frandsen with 33 digs. Addison Knight added 26 digs and was also 20 of 20 serving with two aces.
Kaylie Robinson nailed six kills on 17 of 19 hitting to lead JVC while Alexa Goertz had three blocks.
The Blackhawks fall to 6-10. Liz Boschee led the SCW attack with nine kills. Kamryn Ochsner nailed a pair of aces at the service line.
Kenzie Schley set up the Blackhawk attack with 19 assists, and Kennadie Ochsner paced the defense with 16 digs.
Hamlin 3, Redfield 0
REDFIELD — The Hamlin Chargers eked out a 3-0 win over the Redfield Pheasants Thursday night at the Redfield High School Gymnasium. Set scores in the very close matches for Hamlin were 25-22, 27-25 and 26-24.
Addie Neuendorf had 16 kills and 15 assists for Hamlin, 10-5, while Marissa Bawdon added 12 kills and 18 assists.
For Redfield, who fall to 5-11, Katie Rozell collected nine kills and two block, while Hayden Gall passed out 16 assists and Charli Jungwirth chipped in with three aces.
Aberdeen Roncalli 3, Clark/Willow Lake 0
CLARK – The Aberdeen Roncalli Lady Cavaliers earned their 10th win of the season with a three-set sweep over the Clark/Willow Lake Cyclones Thursday in Clark.
Set scores for the Lady Cavaliers (10-2) were 27-25, 25-12, and 25-20.
The Cyclones drop to 7-10. Shay Michalski led the Cyclone hitting attack with six kills on 14 of 16 attempts and added 11 blocks.
Zoe Nichols set up the Clark/Willow Lake offense with 18 assists and also was 9 of 10 serving with one ace.
Wessington Springs 3, Bridgewater/Emery 2
WESSINGTON SPRINGS – The Wessington Springs Lady Spartans held on for a five-set victory over the Bridgewater/Emery Huskies Thursday in Wessington Springs by scores of 25-16, 23-25, 25-17, 12-25, and 15-10.
The Lady Spartans move to 12-3 behind 21 kills and 16 blocks from Avery Orth. Orth was also 18 of 20 serving with one ace. Alyssa Grohs set up the Springs offense with 38 assists.
Raylee Fagerhaug had 25 digs and also was 23 of 25 serving with three aces for the Lady Spartans.
The Huskies fall to 11-3 despite three players with double-digit kills on the night. Oakley Weber led the team with 13 kills, while Sierra Weber added 11 and Lexi Golder pitched in 10.
Haydin Hofer set up the Husky offense with 23 assists while Golder added four blocks.
The Lady Spartans are back in action Saturday in the 281 Conference tournament at the JVC gym.
