Arlo Saboe, 72, of Willow Lake

WILLOW LAKE — Arlo Saboe, 72, of Willow Lake, passed away Wednesday,  December 6, 2017, at Prairie Lakes Hospital in Watertown.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, December 9, at Grace Lutheran Church at Willow Lake. Burial with full military honors  will follow in the Collins Cemetery at Willow Lake. Visitation will be 9 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
Arlo Gordon Saboe was born  June 6, 1945, at Clark, to Clarence and Borghild (Steen) Saboe.  He graduated from Willow Lake High School in 1963, and attended Northern State College in Aberdeen. In August of 1966, he enlisted in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country honorably until August of 1968, when he received three Bronze Star Medals, and a Purple Heart.
He was united in marriage to to Linda Yexley May 1, 1970. The couple lived and worked in Willow Lake where he worked for the Willow Lake School District as custodian and later as a bus driver. He was a proud member of the Willow Lake Fire Department, American Legion, the Vietnam Veterans of America, and Grace Lutheran Church at Willow Lake.
He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Mike) Remington of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Saboe of Willow Lake; nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Linda; a son, Scott; and a brother, Jean Saboe.
