HURON — In a typically low-number Monday from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH), the DOH did report a significant amount of recovered cases, which lowered the active numbers for multiple counties in the area, including Beadle.
At the state level, the DOH announced 897 new positive cases and 2,118 new recovered cases on the day. That reduced the active cases of COVID-19 in the state to 18,139.
Beadle County reported 19 new positive cases in the county with 47 new recovered cases. The active cases in the county fell to 565, which represents 3.1% of the county’s population.
The Heartland Region added 55 new positive cases and 116 recovered cases across the seven-county region. The active cases in the region went down to 1,117, which represents 2.7% of the region’s residents.
