HURON — While COVID-19 numbers continued to decline throughout the state, for the first time in two months, the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) indicated that Beadle County had an active hospitalization due to COVID-19.
The state added 14 new positive cases and 36 new recovered cases in Monday’s DOH report. This pushed the active cases in the state down to 242.
Beadle County added no new positive cases or new recovered cases, leaving the active cases in the county at five. The Monday DOH report did indicate that the county had a person currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, the first time in more than two months that the county had reported a currently hospitalized person due to the virus.
The Heartland Region saw no movement over the weekend, finishing with 11 active cases in Monday’s report across the seven counties in the region.
