HURON — Beadle County saw some of the results from the mass State Fair COVID-19 testing show up over the weekend, with 64 total cases and 81 total tests recorded in the county.
Those tests brought seven new positive tests in the county, bringing the overall positive cases in the county to 664.
Beadle saw five new recovered cases over the weekend as well, so the active cases in the county increased to 26.
Over the past week, 130 total new cases were announced in Beadle County, with 19 of those cases being new positive cases. The 14.62% positive rate is lower than the county has seen previously, but still significantly above the CDC’s suggested 5% rate.
Sunday’s numbers saw 201 new positives in the state along with 254 new recovered cases in the state. Currently hospitalized patients due to COVID-19 have gone up notably in the past two weeks, reaching a new high on Sunday with 110 actively in the hospital across the state.
The Heartland region saw at least one new positive case in each of the seven counties of the region over the weekend. In total, the Heartland now has totaled 891 positive cases and has 84 active COVID-19 cases in the region.
Sunday’s announced numbers moved the region over 16% of the region tested.
