MILLER ­— Bernice Parmely, 80, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, March 23, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. Burial will be in G.A.R. Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the church.
Bernice Ethel Christensen was born December 11, 1938, in Montrose to Henry and Mary (Mustar) Christensen. She graduated from Montrose High School in 1956. She received a two year teaching degree in 1958, and graduated from Dakota State College in 1973. She taught for 38 years in the Miller School District. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the S.D. Education Association, Easter Star Crescent #4 Miller, and the Lutheran Ladies Quilting Group. She married Robert “Bob” Schubloom February 2, 1963. She was later united in marriage to Merlyn Parmely July 13, 1979.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Mike Parmely of Holabird, Sandra Stevens of Miller, Rod Parmely of Watertown, and Jeff Parmely of Miller; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Dean Christensen; and sister-in-law, Nancy Christensen Alsgaard.
She was preceded in death by both her husbands; her parents; and brother, Henry Jr.
