It was a very windy but cold night at the Miller Central Speedway Saturday night. The die hard fans came out and 75 cars filled the pits.
The night started off with the Pump N Pak pure stock feature. Ferlin Sheridan led the first lap but then Trevor Ryan spun in turn two and got collected by Curtis Johnson. Ryan went off on the hook and Johnson had to go to the work area for a tire change. Sheridan led another lap on the restart before Mike Hammill took the lead. Colton Fryer ran him down and nipped him for the lead at the white flag. Before they could finish, a spin brought out the yellow flag, but Fryer outran Hammill in a green, white, checker finish. Fryer won over Johnson as both Hammill and Jordan Rawstern broke down on the last lap. It was Fryer’s third feature win at the Miller Central Speedway.
The WISSOTA street stock feature went green to checker with Zach Pollock leading all the way. It was Pollock’s first win in the Streets, but he now has six feature wins in three classes at the speedway. Andy Rossow, Broc Stout, Chris Serr and Blayne Baloun rounded out the top five.
The WISSOTA Midwest modified feature started off with a hard crash in turn one involving Dawson Zabel, Jordan Kienow, Spence Pollock, Tanner Grohs and Robert Harder. Harder had the only car that could continue, with Zabel and Grohs going off on the hook.
There were several yellows for single car spins, but Cory Berquist led the first five laps before Lane Johnson caught him napping on a restart. Lane Johnson led until lap 10 when Berquist retook the lead to win his career first feature win anywhere. He was chased to the line by Lorin Johnson, Jayme Peterson, David Carlson and Lane Johnson.
With the bulk of the WISSOTA modified racers still getting their crops in, Mike Stearns led all the way over Nick Wranek and Arne Anderson. Stearns is now tied with Alex Guthmiller for third on the list.
The WISSOTA super stocks rolled out 17 strong. Taylor Schmidt led all the way in a feature that just had one yellow over Cole Searing, Kip Myers, Jon Tollakson and Casey Hanson. It was his first feature win ever, and it was the night before he graduated from Aberdeen Central.
The WISSOTA late models rounded out the night. Chad Becker led all the way in a one caution 20 lap feature. It was his seventh feature win at the Miller Central Speedway with Quentin Myers, Jordan Tollakson, Troy Nothdurft and Curt Gelling rounding out the top five.
Next weekend there will be racing on both Friday and Saturday night. This will be two separate shows with starting times at 7 p.m.
