CANOVA — Bessie Lorraine Koepsell, 82, of Canova, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017, at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, July 27, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Canova with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Bessie Lorraine Palmer was born November 12, 1934, at Webster to Frank and Lelah (Glessner) Palmer. She graduated from Canova High School in 1952.
She was united in marriage to Robert Koepsell June 28, 1953. The couple farmed near Canova, retiring and moving into Canova in 1995.
She worked as a greeter, information supervisor at the Salem I-90 rest area. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Canova/Epiphany Senior Citizens, Canova Legion Auxiliary, Miner County Red Hatter’s, Thursday morning coffee club and Canova Community Club.
She is survived by her sons, Stanley (Pat) Koepsell of Canova, Loren (Linda) Koepsell of Sioux Falls, and Keith (Trudy) Koepsell of Apple Valley, Minn.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Lucille Palmer (Mohn) of Sun City, Ariz.; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
