Bid calling contest supports S.D. Youth Foundation

HURON — The South Dakota Auctioneers Association Bid Calling Contest and Benefit Auction will be held Sunday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m., on the Dakotaland Stage, during the South Dakota State Fair.
For the 14th year, the association is partnering with a youth group to provide funds for community programs in South Dakota. That partner this year is the South Dakota Youth Foundation, Inc. collaborating with SD FCCLA in the healthy living initiative. Its goal is to empower young people to make good decisions for their health.
Over (40) forty different items have been donated.
The South Dakota Auctioneers Association will be auctioning these items during its annual Bid Calling Contest.
There are many items in the line-up, including a featured category called “Grandparent Alert!”
These are items and/or adventures that may be of special interest for grandparents to give or do with their grandchildren.  
A few of the items that will be auctioned on Sept. 2 include:
• A drone with camera and GPS.

• Grandparent Alert! Four Medora musical tickets for the show in Medora, N.D.
• SDSU vs. NDSU Football Tickets & Cubby Gift Certificate
• Grandparent Alert! Four passes to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium
• Camping supplies courtesy of Jacks Campers
• Grandparent Alert! Four wristband passes – good for unlimited attraction rides for one day and cave tour at Rushmore Cave
• One Reflex spray in bedliner courtesy of Prostrollo’s Huron
 • $200 in E30 Ethanol Bucks courtesy of Glacial Lakes Energy
• 46-pound all-pork bundle processed from each Dakota Butcher & Marlin Fjelland Auctioneering
• Gift certificates galore
• Sioux Falls and Brooking Adventure packages for kids, grandparents and parents.
• And many, many more items to numerous to mention
And don’t forget, mixed in all of the fundraising event is the fun and excitement of the South Dakota State Auctioneer Association Bid Calling Contest. The auctioneers each have their own unique style and will be working hard for this year’s title.
