Bigelow wins on Junior Tour

MITCHELL — Karlie Bigelow of Huron won the title in the girls’ division for ages 16-18 on Tuesday during the South Dakota Golf Association’s Junior Tour event at Lakeview Golf Course.

Bigelow fired an 86 to finish two strokes in front of Keva Burshiem of Flandreau.

Kenya Bigelow of Huron was third with a 93. Rounding out the top five were Ellie Jo Simpson of Pierre with a 94 and Isabelle Schneidermann of Rock Rapids with a 95.

Bryn Huber of Huron finished second in the girls’ division for ages 14-15 with an 88. She was just four strokes off the pace set by Quinn Dannenbring of Mitchell.

Mattie Weidenbach of Sioux Falls was third at 89, followed by Olivia Sorlie of Canton at 91 and Allison Andrews of White at 93.

Aiden Zavesky of Huron was 20th in the boys’ division for ages 14-15 with a 96. Hayden Scott of Sioux Falls was the division winner with a 70.

Next up on the Junior Tour is events on Monday and Tuesday at Moccasin Creek Country Club and Lee Park Golf Course in Aberdeen, respectively.

Roberts, Pugh earn Junior Tour titles in Watertown

WATERTOWN — Landon Roberts of Huron and Jayce Pugh of Miller won their respective divisions during the SDGA Junior Tour event on Monday at Prairie Winds Golf Course.

Roberts carded a 79 to win the boys’ division for ages 14-15 by seven strokes. Kade Brecher of Brookings and Hayden Scott of Sioux Falls shared the second spot in the 16-golfer field with scores of 86.

Pugh used a 100 to claim the title in the girls’ division for ages 12-13. Olivia Braun King of Aberdeen was second at 105, while Claire Crawford of Aberdeen was third at 114.
