The entertainer who makes you feel like you are attending the Grand Ole Opry, Billy Troy will be performing on stage Sunday, June 13, at 3 p.m. at the De Smet Event Center.

His accomplishments as a Nashville singer, songwriter and music producer have garnered him Grammy nominations and a Grammy Finalist nod for his production work in country & bluegrass music.

This is the third concert in the line-up for the 2021 De Smet Concert Series and is included in the Old Settler’s Day celebration festivities happening in De Smet over the weekend.

Individual concert tickets are available for $18. Call the Event Center at 605-854-6060 to reserve your tickets; or they may be purchased at the door, depending on seating capacity.

Whether it is music from the ‘50s, ’60s and ’70s or today’s current hits, Billy Troy does it all. Concert-goers experience this “Ride through the Decades” along with the intriguing stories behind the songs.

From Billy Joel, Merle Haggard, Paul McCartney to Marty Robbins, you will hear and feel these influences throughout his show along with other classic country artists you know and love.

Billy Troy has achieved an extensive and exciting career in the entertainment industry. Starting with his father, Uncle Josh Graves, who played dobro for Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs. This allowed Troy to spend Friday and Saturday nights as a young boy standing backstage at The Grand Ole Opry, watching his dad perform and then later performing on the Grand Old Opry stage himself.

Troy’s production of the timeless holiday song “Sleigh Ride” from the CD “Pickin’ On Christmas,” was featured in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. You will also hear his work being broadcast during the seating of Disney’s Lion King Show at Orlando’s Animal Kingdom.

Troy has performed an array of locations throughout the United States, Canada and several European tours.
