Boschee wins high jump title for Blackhawks

SIOUX FALLS — Jeffery Boschee won a state title for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in the Class A boys’ high jump; during the opening day of the State Track Meet on Thursday at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls.
Boschee cleared 6 feet, 7.25 inches to claim the top spot.
The Miller girls’ earned a spot in the 400-meter relay finals with a fifth-place finish in the prelims. Tyra Gates, Ally Mullaney, Morgan Kolda and Jaden Werdel combined for a time of 51.43 seconds.
Sioux Falls Christian held the top spot in both the Class A boys’ and girls’ standings after the first day of competition.
The Chargers had 24 points in the boys’ standings, while Lennox was second at 14.5. Deuel was third at 11, while Sanborn Central/Woonsocket had 10 points to share the fourth spot with Platte-Geddes and Milbank.
Sioux Falls Christian had 20 points in the girls’ standings, while Lennox was second at 16. West Central and Dakota Valley shared the third spot with 11, while Sioux Valley was fifth at 9.
The second day of the state meet begins today at 9 a.m.
