Brandon Valley Red takes two from Huron 13U

HURON – The Brandon Valley Red swept a pair of games from Huron 13U Wednesday at Klock Field 10-2 and 17-1.

Brandon Valley took the lead with a run in the first and three in the third to set up the 10-2 victory in the opener.

Jimmie Martin opened the game on the hill for the Tigers, tossing three innings, allowing four runs on four hits and seven walks, striking out four. Colt Culver finished the game with three innings of relief, allowing six runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out one.

Carter Porisch led the Huron offense with a double.

The visitors put up five runs in the first inning on Huron and kept piling on, coming away with a 17-1 victory due to run rule after the third inning.

Blaise Simon started the game for Huron, allowing five runs over an inning on two hits and four walks, striking out two. Noah Koops pitched the next inning, allowing nine runs on five hits and two walks, striking out one. Tyce Huber closed out the third inning, allowing three runs on two hits and three walks.

The Tiger offense managed just four base runners, with no hitter reaching base twice.

Huron 13U takes a 3-12-1 record against Aberdeen Thursday and then will host Groton Monday at Klock Field beginning at 5 p.m.
