Brenda Darlene (Bucholz) Jennings, 59, of Bancroft

BANCROFT — Brenda Darlene (Bucholz) Jennings, 59, of Bancroft, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at her home.


A private family service will be scheduled on Saturday at Osthus Funeral Home in De Smet, with Reverend Richard Poppen officiating. Burial will follow at LeSueur Cemetery in rural Bancroft.


Brenda Darlene Bucholz was born Febraury 22, 1961, to David Jr. and Mary (Canfield) Bucholz at Wagner. She graduated from Wagner High School. After graduation, she worked for the DOT at Mitchell; and Raven’s and Wilbrecht’s Electronics at Huron; and the Kingsbury County Highway Department at DeSmet. Most recently, she was working for ROCS Transit at De Smet.


She was united in marriage to Paul Jennings on June 6, 1998, at Bancroft. The couple had one son, David.


Brenda loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed the outdoors riding ATV’s or mowing the yard.


She is survived by her husband, Paul of Bancroft; son, David (Desire’) Jennings of Bancroft; three grandchildren, Emily, Blake and Brooke Jennings of Bancroft; her sister, Tammy (Jim) Thornton of Wagner; her uncles, Art Canfield of Avon, and Benjamin Canfield of Wash.; aunts, Mildred Ramsdell of Wagner; and Bess Houska of Yankton; her mother-in-law, Mary Jennings of Bancroft; sisters-in-law, Karen Jennings, Peggy Jennings, and Paula Blue; one niece and several nephews and cousins, and many friends.


She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Ruth Abdvis and Jeanne Anderson.
