Brookings sweeps seventh grade volleyball

HURON — Brookings recorded a sweep against the Huron seventh-grade volleyball teams on Thursday.
The Bobcats won A-match with set scores of 25-13 and 25-10.
Talley Hins was 4 of 4 serving for the Tigers, while Ramsey Rozell converted on 4 of 6 serves. Jayla Schley and Autumn Siedschlag were both 3 of 4 serving.
Brookings won the B-match with set scores of 25-22 and 25-17.
Hins was 7 of 9 serving with an ace, while Eh Khu Shee was 6 of 7 with a pair of aces for Huron. Taylor Sorben was 6 of 8 serving with an ace and Jesse Mattke was 4 of 6 serving.
The Bobcats used set scores of 25-21, 20-25 and 16-14 to escape with the win in the C-match.
Neveah Garcia was perfect on 14 serves with five aces for the Tigers. Hser Htoo was 16 of 17 serving with three aces, while Shee was 12 of 12 serving. Andrea Estrada and Ovilla Mendonca were both 4 of 5 serving.
Aberdeen Central swept Huron on Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles won 25-8 and 25-17 in the A-match; 25-14 and 25-20 in the B-match; and 25-13 and 25-20 in the C-match.
Statistics were not available from Tuesday’s matches.
Huron closes the regular season on Monday at Yankton.
