DUMAGUETE CITY, Philippines — Bruce Allison Greschke, 74, of Dumaguete City, Philippines and formerly of Huron, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017, at his home in Dumaguete City, Philippines.
Bruce was born June 9, 1943, in Huron to Martin and Lela (Allison) Greschke. Upon graduation from Huron High School in 1961, he entered the U.S. Navy and retired in 1982, after 21 years of service. After retirement in Guam, he decided to sail around the Pacific Ocean and settled in the Philippines in 1992, where he made his home for the next 25 years.
He is survived by his son, Bryce (Cindy) of Calif.; his daughter, Jamaica of the Philippines; sister, Kelo (Gary) Shaw of Ariz.; brothers, David (Debra) of Ariz., and Robert of New Mexico; aunts, Margaret Greschke, and Tootie (KO) Kauth of Huron; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and his daughter, Jolee.
He has been cremated and his ashes spread on the Pacific Ocean per his request. “Fair winds and calm seas Bruce.”
