Buchanan K-1 Center
October has been filled with lots of learning in reading, math, social studies, and writing.

Fifty days in Kindergarten was also celebrated this past week. Miss Person, Miss Westby, and Mrs. Ahlers are so proud of the kindergarten students.

It’s all about letters, sounds, and sight words in reading. Students are identifying beginning sounds in words and matching letters with their sounds.  They are enjoying singing their letter songs.

Each day children have been counting their days in school, identifying patterns on the calendar, writing their numbers, and singing their math number songs.

Children are learning about community helpers, goods and services, and even exploring the landforms and places in the world around them.

Kinders are becoming writers too, as they explore being illustrators of their own stories and labeling their pictures.  They have been building writing stamina and learning about adding more details to illustrations.

Thank you to all the hard-working students who bring their laughter, energy, and creativity to their learning each and every day!
