To the Editor:
I agreed to be Treasurer for Josh Haeder’s campaign to become South Dakota’s next State Treasurer, primarily because Josh is a person of integrity. Josh has also gained invaluable experience, while working in the private sector as a credit counselor.
When is the last time Huron had an ambassador elected at the statewide level in South Dakota?
In the early 1900s, Coe Crawford was elected Governor. Gladys Pyle was elected as the S.D. Secretary of State in the late 1920s and to the U.S. Senate in the early 1940s. As citizens of Huron, we are fortunate to have Josh Haeder running for State Treasurer.

We have a special bond with U.S. Senator Mike Rounds, who was born in Huron. Coincidentally, Josh worked for Senator Rounds, as his Northeast Director and has Senator Rounds’ backing in his quest to be the next Treasurer.
In addition to earning the support of Senator Mike Rounds, Josh has earned the support of Lt. Gov. Matt Michels, current S.D. Treasurer Rich Sattgast and former Treasurer Vern Larson amongst many others.
Over the years we have put a lot of energy and time into revitalizing and advocating for our community. We have sent strong leaders like Jim White to the legislature. We have had community leaders build relationships with leaders at the state level. Now it is time we rally around one of our own, homegrown leaders, for statewide office.
Please join me as a member of the Huron community in supporting our own Josh Haeder to guarantee Huron takes another step forward, but electing of of our best to the important position of State Treasurer.
Let’s make it known: Huron is for Haeder!
