Calvin 'Cal' Huber, 80 of Huron

HURON — Calvin “Cal” Robert Huber, 80, of Huron, passed away Monday, September 3, 2018, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls after a battle with cancer. 
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, September 10, at the American Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 pm. A private burial will be at a later date in the Morningside Cemetery in Roscoe. 
Calvin “Cal” Robert Huber was born January 25, 1938, in Selby, to Christian “Christ” and Mary (Fritz) Huber. He attended school at Selby, and completed his GED.
He enlisted in the National Guards in 1961, and served until 1963. In 1969, the couple purchased the Clark Locker in Clark. In  1972, the family moved to Redfield where he became a  City Police Officer. He then went to work for the U.S. Post Office there and transferred to the Huron Post Office in 1996, where he worked until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children, Kenneth of Sioux Falls, and Elisabeth “Lisa” (Dale) Lewis of Frankfort; grandchildren, Christian Lewis, Spencer (Katelyn Renneke) Lewis;  sister-in-law, Janice Schock of Bowdle; and a niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Dianna (Wayne) Flemmer, and Herbert Huber; sisters-in-law, Mildred Walth, and Leona (Bruce) Morrison; and brother-in law, Delbert Schock.
