PEORIA, ARIZ., — Carol L. Baum, 72, of Peoria, Ariz., and formerly of Huron, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Hospice of the Valley in Phoenix, Arizona.
A private family service will be held with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Carol Lynn was born on February 12, 1948, in Huron to parents George and Hazel (Moller) Beckman. She attended Huron Public Schools and graduated from Huron College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1985. In November 1991, she received her license for Nursing Care Institution as an Administrator. In June of 1998, she became a CPA in Arizona.
Carol married Gene Baum on July 7, 1967, in Huron. Carol worked at the Huron Nursing Home, Coppersands and was self-employed. Carol and Gene lived in Huron until 1990, when they moved to Arizona.
Carol enjoyed needle point, card games and playing Bunco. Carol was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Gene of Peoria, Ariz.; three sons, Stacey (Diane) Baum of Remsen, Iowa, Chad (Patti) Baum of Farmington, Minn., and Greg (Jolene) Baum of Glendale, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Krystal (Neil) Sheehan and their four children, Kelsey (Zack) Mullins and their child, Kylie (Bryan) Lenz, Katie Baum, Hannah Baum, and Kyle Baum; siblings, Jean Hart of Huron, Ethel Nelson of Huron, Marlene (Harold) Forbes of Mobridge, Lloyd (Jerilyn) Beckman of Frazee, Minn., Lois (Norm) Ferguson of Huron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel; brothers, Carl and Richard; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hart and Clarence Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona in memory of Carol Baum.
