HOWARD — Carol R. Laible, 91, of Howard, passed away Friday, October 6, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 9, at Beach United Methodist Church of Howard with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery at Howard. Visitation will begin Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home and resume at 5 p.m. at the church followed by a prayer service at 7 p.m.
Carol Ruth Weber was born June 1, 1926, at Madison to Calvin and Eunice (Hammer) Weber. She grew up near Madison and attended Franklin Consolidated School, graduating in 1944. She attended college in Madison for two years and taught primary grades for three years.
She was united in marriage to William Laible June 8, 1949. She was employed in Howard as a teacher’s aide for seventeen years. She served as a 4-H leader, Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Beach United Methodist Church, and the American Legion.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Renee) Laible of Howard, Ronald (Karen) Laible of Harrisburg, Richard Laible of Howard, John (Wanda) Laible of Howard, Nancy (Bob) Wik of Gregory; fourteen grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene (Joyce) Weber of Sioux Falls; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Thomas Pochop; siblings, Evelyn Crisp, and Ivan and Myron Weber.
