HURON — Ashley Curnow, a registered dietitian at Carr Chiropractic and Intentional Living in Huron, recently attended the Institute for Functional Medicine’s Annual International Conference.

The conference brought together healthcare professionals from all over the world who are dedicated to the practice of functional medicine.

The conference was packed with informative sessions, inspiring keynote speakers, and hands-on workshops. There were also plenty of opportunities to network with other attendees and share knowledge and expertise.

Curnow had the opportunity to learn from several field experts, including Dr. Mark Hyman, a renowned functional medicine physician and author.

During her attendance, she participated in several workshops, such as one about the gut microbiome, cancer, and another about utilizing functional medicine to treat autoimmune diseases.

These workshops were conducted by professionals in their specific fields and offered a plethora of valuable information and useful guidance.

Throughout the conference, there was a strong emphasis on the importance of patient-centered care and the need to treat the whole person, rather than just their symptoms. This philosophy is at the heart of functional medicine.
