Celebrating America in Iroquois

Posted

Students in Iroquois School celebrated three patriotic holidays on Sept. 17 — Citizenship Day, POW-MIA Day and Constitution Day. Third grade students each received a Proud to be an American bookmark. These bookmarks have The Pledge of Allegiance written on the back. The elementary student council now uses the district loudspeaker to recite the Pledge every morning.

Students in grade four (above) each received a copy of the Our Country’s Flag comic book that describes and illustrates the development of the U.S. Flag throughout the course of the country’s history. The students in grade four are, front row, from left, Jamisyn Siefert, Willy Miller and Zackary Almont; middle row, Lauren Oestrich, Arianna Bakke and Kaiden Breshears; and in back, Clarissa Hanson, Emmet Dunsworth and Jaycee Groenewold.

Students in the senior class also each received a Proud to be an American bookmark with The Pledge of Allegiance written on the back. The seniors are listed from left to right: Montana Sprong, Samantha Torguson, Harley Nelson, Hannah Hofhenke, Alex Generoso, and Kaitlyn Konshak.
