HURON — Charles B. VonEye, 64, of Huron, formerly of Miller, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.
His funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery at Wessington Springs. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
Charles Barnett VonEye was born September 7, 1953, in Miller to Barney and Evelyn May (Lambert) VonEye. He attended country schools and graduated from Miller High School. He also attended Vocational Technology school in Mitchell. He farmed Southwest of Miller until his retirement.
Charles attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Huron. He enjoyed writing, reading, fishing, and hunting.
He is survived by his sisters, Julie Walton of Aurora, Colo., Joan (Donald) Wicker of Spotsylvania, Va., and Janet (Alan) Sluneka of Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; Barney and Evelyn VonEye; and brother-in-law, Jim Walton.
