Cheering assistance from Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser

HURON — Oaklee Baysinger, 6-year-old cheer enthusiast, has been working hard to raise funds for Xtreme Cheer by selling Krispy Kreme donuts.
Xtreme Cheer is a cheer, dance and tumble program based in Mitchell.
Xtreme Cheer offers fundraisers for all the kids who attend to help pay for competition costs. The funds raised will go toward the general booster, which pays for facilities, and individual boosters to help pay for outfits and travel for competitions.
“The general booster paid for the girls’ bows this year,” said Oaklee’s mother, Kristina Baysinger, “ they had to sell a minimum of 250 boxes and anything sold past that goes to the individual boosters.”

Oaklee set up her donut delivery booth in Corner Pantry on 21st and Dakota, and between all the kids selling donuts there were nearly 1,000 sold altogether.
There are several upcoming competitions throughout the state and nation in Omaha, Neb., and Kansas City, Mo., with the goal of traveling to Orlando, Fla., for the D2 Summit next year.
There are five different age groups that compete, from age five to 18.
Oaklee began cheer, dance and tumbling three years ago and has already worked her way up to compete with the 8-14 years group.
Another fundraiser scheduled is a coffee fundraiser later this year at Corner Pantry, featuring Four Seasons Coffee.
