HURON — The city’s annual spring clean-up weekend is not far off.
Extended hours at the rubble site will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26 and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
On those days, residents will be allowed access to the rubble site by bringing their current (April) water utility bill for unlimited use for a variety of materials.
Those include household garbage, metal, Freon units, appliances, trees, wood, electronics, car batteries, and rubble, such as mattresses, furniture, carpet and construction materials.
A limit of four tires will also be accepted.
Hazardous waste will not be allowed. Those include liquid paints, stains, paint thinners, chemicals, lithium batteries, anti-freeze and compressed gases.
Businesses are also excluded.
Loads should be pre-sorted and secured by being covered and tied down.
Residents are asked to check with neighbors to see if they need assistance.
People needing help hauling materials to the rubble site may fill out an application at the inspections office in City Hall, 239 Wisconsin Ave. S.W.
