HURON – Three seats are open for election to the Huron City Commission and Huron School Board in the April 9 joint election.
The terms of Garret Bischoff and Craig Lee on the school board are expiring as is the term of Mark Robish on the commission.
Nominating petitions for the seats can be picked up beginning Friday, Jan. 25. The deadline to submit them is 5 p.m. Feb. 22.
Petitions are available at City Hall and at the school business office at the Huron Arena. They can also be downloaded from the South Dakota Secretary of State’s web site.

Robish has served on the City Commission since 2009.
Bischoff is in his sixth year, ending two three-year terms. Lee is in his second year, completing a three-year term originally begun by Sherman Gose. Gose served one year before moving out of the school district and Lee was elected to complete the remaining two years.
It is a non-election year for Beadle County offices.
