City to seek new golf manager

HURON —At their regular weekly meeting Monday evening, Huron City Commissioners retired to executive session to discuss the golf manager position. After coming out of the session, a motion was made to approve listing the golf manager position.
As reported by the Plainsman, the previous week members of the Golf Advisory Board met with the City Commission in an extended work session to discuss options for the position, examining various ways to fund and hire for the position, including folding the position into Parks & Recreation in order to fund a full-time role with benefits, offering the position as a full-time salary position, or offering the position as it had been previously —  as a contract position with incentive earning opportunity.
Monday’s executive session approved a listing for a contract position for the golf manager role to be listed for potential applications.
Interested applicants should look for the job listing under the “Economic Development” tab at huronsd.com or contact Huron city human resources director Pat Schmidt at 353-8505.
