VOLGA — With four runners in the top 17, the Clark/Willow Lake girls’ cross country team edged Flandreau for the team title during the Sioux Valley Invite on Tuesday at Volga Golf Course.
The Cyclones finished with a score of 31, while Flandreau ended the day at 33.
Halle Bauer of Great Plains Lutheran was the medalist in the varsity girls’ race with a winning time of 18:45.10.
Kamryn Nesheim of Clark/Willow Lake was fourth at 19:40.91, while teammates Hadley Gjerde and Emma Bochek finished in spots No. 10 and 11, respectively, with times of 21:06.45 and 21:15.27.
Cadence Bochek was 17th for Clark/Willow lake at 21:26.79, followed by teammate Kayla Jordan at 21:32.49.
Flandreau had four runners inside the top 10 to win the boys’ title with 19 points. Madison was second at 41, followed by Deubrook Area at 53, Sioux Valley at 66 and Great Plains Lutheran at 90. Clark/Willow Lake was seventh at 97.
Ricky Berndt of Deuel was the varsity boys’ winner with a time of 16:40.69.
Cooper Pommer led the Cyclones with an 18:08.07 to finish sixth. Taylor Merkel was 32nd at 20:30.97 and Matthew Batchelor was 35th at 21:06.59.
