Sioux Falls Christian 3, Madison 0
WATERTOWN — The top-seeded, and once-defeated Sioux Falls Christian Chargers danced into the championship semifinals at the Class “A” State Volleyball Tournament Thursday, with a 3-0 (25-11, 25-12, 25-21) win over the No. 8 Madison Bulldogs, at Watertown Civic Arena.

The Chargers, now 26-1 on the year, will face fifth-seeded Hamlin at 5 p.m. in a championship round match, while Madison, 16-5, slips into the consolation round to face Winner at noon.

Abby Glanzer led the Chargers charge with 18 kills in the match, while teammate Kelsi Heard had 34 set assists. Kylah vanDonkersgoed led the defense with 10 digs.

Madison got eight kills from Sophia Vandenbosch and 16 assists from Kylie Krusemark.

Hamlin 3, Winner 2
The Hamlin Chargers held off a furious final spurt by the Winner Warriors Thursday afternoon, to hold on for a 3-2 win over the Warriors in an opening round game at the Class “A” State Volleyball Tournament.

Hamlin, now 20-4, will face top-seeded Sioux Falls Christian in a championship round semifinal game, while Winner will square off with Madison in the consolation round at noon today.

Ally Abraham led the Chargers with 15 kills and had three block assists in the match, while Gracelyn Everson had 22 assists and Kami Wadsworth had 13.

Astyn Abraham led the defense with 31 digs and Wadsworth added 19. Both Taylor Koisti and Zoey Ruotsalainen each had 18 digs.

Winner got 28 big kills from Ellie Brozik and Kalla Bertram had 14 as the Warriors fall to 22-5. Mackenzie Levi had 45 assists and Bertram led the defense with 25 digs.

Dakota Valley 3, Rapid City Christian 1
The sixth-seeded Dakota Valley Panthers pulled the first upset of the Class “A” State Volleyball Tournament Thursday evening, as they derailed the No. 3 Rapid City Christian Lady Comets 3-1. Set scores for the Panthers, who improve to 16-5, were 21-25, 25-17, 25-23 and 25-9.

Dakota Valley moves into the championship semifinals against Parker, while Rapid City Christian, now 28-5 will tangle with Hill City in the consolation round.

Parker 3, Hill City 1
The Parker Pheasants punched their ticket into the championship round of the Class “A” State Volleyball Tournament Thursday night, with a 3-1 win over the second-seeded Hill City Rangers. Set scores for the Pheasants were 25-21, 25-18, 18-25, 26-24.

Parker, which improves to 19-7, got 18 kills and 18 digs from S Lang in the win, while R Andersen added 12 kills. C Mohr passed out 42 set assists in the match.

For Hill City, H Wathen had 15 kills and 24 digs and D Schrier also had 15 kills in the match. A Barber had 23 assists and A Siemonsma chipped in 17. The Rangers, who fall to 26-3, will play Rapid City Christian in one consolation semifinal this afternoon.

Parker will move into the championship semifinals, where they will play sixth-seeded Dakota Valley.
