County clarifies courthouse restrictions

HURON — Beadle County Commissioners met Tuesday morning in their regular twice-monthly meeting with the major item on the agenda a resolution to address those entering the courthouse for a court appearance.

The commissioners approved a resolution that those entering the courthouse at this time for a court appearance or for an appointment with any office within the courthouse facility will need to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Wear a protective face covering, such as a mask
  • Shall not have been exposed to COVID-19 or asked to self-quarantine by a medical professional in the last 14 days
  • Health and temperature screening at the entrance
  • Must practice social distancing
  • All non-employees must be monitored by a courthouse employee while in the courthouse
  • Restrooms are closed to the public
  • Occupancy restrictions of two members of the public in any office, 10 in the commission room, 12 in the small courtroom, and 18 in the large courtroom

County commissioners opened the meeting convened as the board of adjustment to review a variance request from Mason Moeding and a moving permit from David and Dawn Marshall. Both were approved.
