HURON — With recent moisture aiding in their decision, the Beadle County Commission chose to suspend the county-wide burn ban at the commission meeting Tuesday morning. This is in effect immediately.
Commissioners also heard an update on the museum curator position. After reviewing recent applications, the museum board chose not to pursue any of the candidates and instead offer an interim curator position to Louise Van Poll through December 31 as the board continues to search for a long-term option.
Commissioners also approved a consulting contract with Eide Bailly regarding the American Rescue Plan Act, as the county works to access the funding approved by the federal government in ways approved by the Act.
Commissioners met as the county board of adjustment to consider the application for the Asamblea Christiana to use property previously zoned as commercial for a church after discussing the access to a septic tank on the property and potential to access Huron city sewer that is being run near the property.
