HURON — With one new death in the state coming from the Heartland Region in Tuesday’s numbers from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH), area counties were of note as Beadle County also moved beyond 100 total hospitalized during the pandemic in Tuesday’s DOH numbers.
The state noted 150 new positive cases, one new death, and 204 new recovered cases in Tuesday’s numbers. Active cases dropped to 1,754, the lowest since August 25, 2020.
Beadle County added two new positive cases and five new recovered cases. Active cases in the county dropped to 27, the lowest number in the county since Sept. 15.
Beadle also added two new hospitalizations due to COVID-19, pushing the county’s total over the course of the pandemic to 101. The county has one person who remains hospitalized in the ICU due to COVID-related issues.
The Heartland Region topped 6,000 positive cases among the seven-county region after Tuesday’s numbers. With six new positive cases, the region moved to 6,004 total positive cases across the region over the pandemic.
The Heartland also added one new death, in Kingsbury County, and seven new recovered cases, dropping active cases in the county to 66.
