HURON — After reaching a low point in the April 20 weekly report from the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH), the past two DOH reports have seen COVID-19 cases in the state jump notably, with active cases increasing by 186% over the two-week period.
In the most recent report, the state added 373 new positive cases, three new deaths, and 144 new recovered cases.
Active cases in the state are up to 766 from 412 two weeks prior.
Beadle County adds one new positive case and one new recovered case. Active cases in the county are stable at seven.
The Heartland Region added 13 new positive cases and six new recovered cases across the seven-county region.
The region’s active cases are up to 28.
