Bismarck, ND — The Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas (CUFD) has awarded twenty
$500 Dakotas’ Credit Union Financial Scholarships to the following North Dakota and
South Dakota recipients.
• Jamie Holforty of Huron is a recent high school graduate and is a member of Dakotaland FCU and Huron Area Education FCU.
• Matthew Katz of Huron is a recent high school graduate and is a member of Dakotaland Federal Credit Union.
• Parker Broer of Huron is a recent high school graduate and is a member of M-O Federal Credit Union.
This is the second year that the CUFD has awarded $10,000 in scholarships. A panel of six judges selected the recipients based upon their volunteer experience, school activity involvement and an essay written by the students: “How has your credit union affected both you and your family?” The students will use the individual $500 scholarships to pursue or continue their degrees in higher education. High school seniors or current college students who are credit union members were eligible to apply.
The Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas (CUFD) purpose is to build community awareness of Dakota credit unions through support of children’s charities; community and social impact organizations or projects; financial education and financial literacy programs through the credit union chapter system; and to provide higher education scholarships throughout our service region in North and South Dakota.
