WATERTOWN ­— Dale D. Jones, 47, of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020, as the result of an accident.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Cornerstone United Methodist Church.
Pastor Jesse Hurkes will officiate. Music will be provided by Daniel Tsukamoto as organist with soloist Mike Morgan.
The family is requested to meet at the church by 9:30 a.m. for a family prayer service.
Visitation will be at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.; and also prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Burial will be at Wessington Cemetery in Wessington. Honorary pallbearers will be Tren Bernard, the local Law Enforcement Agencies, and Casino Speedway. Active pallbearers are: Daren Lindner, Kyle Orth, Cory Zietz, Andy Wicks, Dave Gibbs and Rob Kallenberger.
Dale was born on June 10, 1972, to Jarold and Sharalyn (Langbehn) Jones, in Wessington. He was a 1990 graduate of Wessington High School and also graduated from LATI in the Automotive Tech Department. Dale then worked for Cy & Mike’s Trucking, Crocker Auto Body, and later at Watertown Truck & Trailer.
He started working at Performance Towing in 2012, and was currently employed there. Dale spent many nights in charge of the wrecker at Casino Speedway. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on his Impala with Douglas, doing home repairs and working on his home. He was also an avid pool player. Dale was known for always helping someone in need. His special times were spent with his grandson, Tren.
Dale is survived by his children, Douglas Jones (Stephanie Woods), and Jessica Jones, both of Watertown; his grandson, Tren Bernard; his mother, Sharalyn Jones of Wessington; his girlfriend, Kristi Knock, and her children, Maureena and Lance of Watertown; and his sister, Christina (Stacy) DeBoer of Clear Lake.
He was preceded in death by his father.
