DE SMET — Dale Haufle, 91, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Nursing home in De Smet.
Dale Ernest Haufle was born on a farm southwest of Lake Preston on Sept. 26, 1928 to Bertha (Nelson) and Ernest Haufle. He went to rural school and then graduated from Lake Preston High School in 1946, Dale lived on the farm which was his grandfather’s homestead for 84 years before moving into Lake Preston. He farmed that land and also worked for many neighbors over this time.
Dale is survived by his sister Ruby Malde of Santa Rosa, CA, his step-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Beverly Stevens and Lola Wennblom and their spouses, his step-daughters Carol and Greta and many dear relatives and friends.
Services will be held at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church on April 25, 2020 at 11 a.m. with the family present at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Hill Church (Trinity) near Oldham.
