HURON — David Diehl, 74, of Huron, passed away Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at his home.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with his family present from 5 to 7 p.m.  A time of sharing will be at 6 p.m. Friday.
David Irvin Diehl was born May 26, 1944, at Chicago, Ill. to Paul and Eileen (Castor) Diehl. He graduated from high school at Duluth, Minn., in 1963. He was united in marriage to Louise Brown Sept. 3, 1971.
He served 24 years in the U.S. States Air Force as a heavy ground radar technician, serving overseas. He attended Community College of Air Force and received an associate degree in electrical engineering. He joined the FAA, as an electronics technician for 24 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Louise of Huron; children, Todd (Ann) Diehl of Huron, and Mary (David) Kelvie of Owatonna, Minn.; seven grandchildren; brother, Rev. Tim (Gayle) Diehl of Hollandale, Minn.; father-in-law, Rollie Brown of Gothenburg, Neb.; brothers- and-sisters-in-law, Leslie (Diane) Brown, and Dan (Rebecca) Brown both of Neb., and Bonnie (John) McCarthy of Texas; his nieces and nephews and their families; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
