REDFIELD — Dawn Marie Hallsted, 54 of Redfield, formerly of Doland, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
Honoring her generous wish, the gift of life was shared with many people in need through tissue donation. Memorial services will be planned for a later date. Hyke Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Dawn Marie Brothers was born May 23, 1963, in Redfield to Jessie and Norma (Lewis) Brothers. She attended school in Doland. After earning her GED, she moved to Nebraska where she started her first job as a certified nursing assistant.
She had been employed by the South Dakota Developmental Center, Lakeside Assisted Living, and the Golden Living Center. It is evident through her work in the healthcare field that Dawn was a compassionate caregiver.
She loved watching television, as well as spending time with her family and her chihuahua.
She is survived by her children, Misty Hallsted, Nick Hallsted, and Micah (Stephanie Hansen) Hallsted all of Redfield; grandson, Damion; and siblings, Deb (James) Wagner of Doland, Dennis Brothers of Hammond, Ind., and David (Karen) Brothers of Marysville, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her her parents; infant twins; and her sister-in-law, Diane Brothers.
