HURON — Denise Fae Klicker, 75, of Huron and formerly of Wolsey, passed away Friday, October 13, 2017, at Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 18, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wolsey with burial in the St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron or visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Denise Fae Balvin was born September 9, 1942, in Huron to Frank J. and Ossie G. (Hamby) Balvin. Denise was united in marriage to Christian Klicker on December 13, 1959, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wolsey. They were the first couple to be married in the new church following its construction. They lived on the Klicker family farm where they actively farmed until Chris passed away on December 26, 2011, and shortly thereafter Denise moved to Huron.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wolsey and was active in LWML, choir and bible study in her earlier years. She enjoyed walking and spending time in the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one son, Leif Klicker of Virgil; several relatives including cousins, Doug (Marlas) Balvin, Nancy Balvin, Virginia (Roger) Gravelle, Donald (Joann) Simons, Marcella Sunding, Beverly Calvert, Delbert (Judy) Klicker, Duane Struck, Margaret (Jay) Ruckdaschel, Marlys (Bob) Barker, Carol Fetheringill, Sam Nettinga, Paul Nettinga, and Jean Haneke; one sister-in-law, Mavis (Ron) Bensley of Seattle, Wash.; and several nieces and nephews.
Denise was preceded in death by her parents; stepmother, Jessie Balvin; husband, Chris; infant son, Christian Frederick Klicker, Jr.; three sisters, Ethyl Boyle, Leola Hartley, and Mavis Martin; two brothers, Ira Brown and Stanley Brown; parents-in-law, Fred and Agnes Klicker; and sister-in-law and husband, Marilyn and Lee Heller.
