PIERRE — In their weekly press briefing Wednesday, the South Dakota Department of Health (DOH) addressed recent emails and text messages received by formerly COVID-positive residents of the state.

DOH Secretary Kim Malsam-Rysdon stated that the messages are a matter of follow-up from the department. The message contains a link to a questionnaire from which the department is hoping to garner additional information about COVID recovery in the state. Response has been mixed to the messages thus far, though press on the call who had received the messages pointed out potential issues with spam-like appearance of messages. The DOH intends to review the content of the messages further and continue with the messaging to previously virus positive state residents.

If you receive a message stating that it is from the DOH, and you are unsure, call the DOH at 605-773-3361 or 1-800-738-2301.
